Artist's Description

This is one of 4 stone pillars that still stand on the south hill of Spokane. These 20ft tall monuments go mainly unnoticed these days but fall colors seem to accent them more than most other times of the year. The pillars were the vision of the Olmsted Brothers who designed the Rockwood neighborhood where they are located along with many of the parks in Spokane. These decorative stone towers are located on two boulevards, one on either side, that lead into the Rockwood area. There isn't much information about this but it is believed the pillars were designed by architect, Kiktland K. Cutter. This Pillar is located on Hatch and Highland Boulevard.
